One Earth! Clay and Glass Studio and Gallery

One Earth! Clay and Glass Studio and Gallery presents the work of Adonis Noguera,
Showing now through May 12th at the One Earth! Clay and Glass Gallery

For over 17 years, Sculptor and Designer Adonis Noguera has been working with clay as an artistic medium. He was born in Camaguey, Cuba, a classic, Colonial-Mediterranean style town known for its beautiful beaches, and tinajones, large, wood kiln-fired ceramic vessels. He has been surrounded by the natural environment of this tropical island for most of his life. The son of campesinos, countryside farmers, his education was clear and simple, rooted in nobility of heart, and lessons of labor. Beginning first with the natural elements of his surroundings, and learning the natural art of making clay and glazes to produce his pieces, Adonis has continued his fervent love of clay here in the United States, and still employs many of his hand made techniques in the creation of his works. He has received the Fidelio Ponce de Leon Grand Prize in recognition of his outstanding sculpture. As a member of the Fondos de Bienes Culturales de Cuba, his portfolio includes exterior and interior installations of freestanding sculptures and murals. He currently resides with his wife and two children in a quiet suburb of Indianapolis, and started his own ceramic art and tile company two years ago.
